ABC gives the chance to talented unknown designers to present their creations on the show, by designing a dance; there is a special section on the ABC Dancing with the Stars web page that offers all the contest regulations necessary for one to design a dance. Anyone curious to discover more about the insights of the show can have a look around the page and see the contest descriptions, the specific of the dances, the vote polls and even check with the recaps or watch the contest sections online. ABC Dancing with the Stars follows the same line of promotion of previous shows before, meaning that there is an ample show extra-activity.
From December 17 to January 8, ABC Dancing with the Stars organizes a tour in over thirty American cities, covering most of the states. People get to see their favorite celebrities and professional dancers performing live; tickets are sold online, and one can get more info, by signing up for newsletters. This means that even if the final show in the ABC Dancing with the Stars season will take place at the end of November, there are some more things going on before the show is completely over. For the moment, Dancing with the Stars is nominated for People’s Choice Award, voting is still in progress, and everybody is waiting to find out who will win the title of Favorite Reality Show.
All in all, the ABC Dancing with the Stars session has had its share of a great reception, but there are negative reviews too, which are considered normal for any show. Even so, the dimension of the dancing stars phenomenon turned out satisfactorily for the producing television who increased ratings and popularity among viewers. The competition with other rival networks broadcasting survival shows, remains pretty tight, which is why the Internet has become such an important support for the ABC Dancing with the Stars.

The reason for which there was room for chronological additions is that George Lucas only outlined the basic plot in the 70s at the time of the project conception. Back then, details were not given that much attention, and the major actions were the ones to count for film making. Episode iii Star Wars underwent several scene modifications before it was released, as the director altered scenes, scripts and editing. Nevertheless, the result was worth waiting for, since Episode iii Star Wars speaks about more than just the beginnings of the galactic empire, the public is confronted with the corruption and pervasion of evil.
Once the screenplay for Episode iii Star Wars got ready, Lucas focused on the design. The art department would work on hundreds of patterns that were supposed to appear on screen. During the film making, they even turned to pre-visualization techniques to see how the scenes and the characters would look like. Steven Spielberg also assisted the making of the Revenge of the Sith, witnessing all the work that Lucas and his team devoted themselves to for the analysis of every sequence. Stunts were extensively used, particularly for the fighting scenes; thus, the famous duel moment between Anakin and Obi-Wan was filmed at the speed at which it actually took place, with very little cuts used to increase velocity.
Episode iii Star Wars was shot almost exclusively on the stages of the Fox Studios in Sidney, Australia, although various backgrounds were later shot for the purpose of creating practical environments. Thus, the eruption of mount Etna in Italy was well integrated in the economy of the film in the final scenes on Mustafar planet. Episode iii Star Wars also had a theatrical counterpart that was released almost in the same time with the movie. The film premiered at the Cannes Film Festival on May 15, 2005, without entering the competition, while the play came out four days later.

If done correctly, the study of the star signs could reveal very impressive and truthful aspects of one’s life, complex astrological investigations are performed by the true ?scientists? of the zodiac and people are surprised to discover how many of the predicted or revealed aspects are true, though they may totally contradict what the personal horoscope in a magazine says. According to the star signs, one’s individuality is triggered by the star sign whereas the personality comes from the ascending sign corresponding to the time of the birth. The directions in one’s life and the potential creativity of the person could be influenced by the position of the stars and planets in the individual astrological chart.
Though many web sites insist on the comprehensiveness of their star signs charts, there is almost impossible to reveal all the aspects by such a readings. Therefore, the info you get from a professional astrologer could be instructive but functioning as general guidelines that help you better understand or accept your nature; such analyses of the star signs could in fact increase the level of self awareness, helping one identify personal weaknesses or great strength points. A star reading can be conducted online or by contacting an astrologer directly.
Special software is also used for star signs analysis since a map of the sky with the exact position of the constellations and the planets alignment is crucial for the correct interpretation. Besides the coordinates on the sky map on the birth moment, the periodical position of the planets also requires study in order to create a good accurate horoscope that would reflect reality. The superiority of astrological star signs investigations over regular newspaper horoscope columns is therefore crushing; while the former is the real thing, the latter is a combination of so-called predictions put together as simply as possible.

Printable star patterns have become very popular for the creation of various decorations whether they are for the winter holidays or for birthday parties and anniversaries. Modern science now gives us access to so many options that we are often at a loss about what to choose. To fully understand the extent at which we are relying on our technologies it suffices to say that a printable star pattern was not available thirty years ago, and people would simply draw, cut and color it. The shape was not perfect, but the star was and remains just a symbol. Now printable star patterns come fully colored or designed in very precise ways, shortening the extent of the activity and helping us gain time.
Teachers can use printable star patterns during their craft classes, particularly with young students for whom playing remains an important part of their lives. The possibility to play and draw at school too can be put to good use for educational purposes. Thus, the teacher can use all sorts of printable star formats to teach a science lesson about our galaxy, or a printable star will help the little ones better grasp the meaning of Christmas. Coloring also works great for the matter, and parents can take up similar activities with their kids at home.
You can use all sorts of paper or even thin cardboard for the printable star sets, but shiny, glossy material is the most rewarding when you want to use the items for decoration purposes. The good thing about being able to use a predefined shape on the computer is that you can adjust the size of the ornament before printing, thus adding up to its variety. Where to get printable star models from? If you don’t have some available on your computer in the special symbol section of Microsoft Word, you can try Corel Draw or Adobe, but very often these are the more complex options.
You can simply download a printable star version from a site that offers free designs for postcards; there are hundreds of such web pages that can often bring more decoration ideas than you may have initially thought of. All sorts of elements can be added before getting the star on paper: color shades, other star combinations, size crescent effects and other tricks that a computer allows us to make. Presently, you can find anything you like on the Internet, from suggestions and tips to the real thing; just make a search and take your pick.

A star tattoo is one of the most common patterns you can get painted on your skin and though the concept is neither new nor original there are all sorts of designs used to make it special. The symbolism of the star varies from one culture to another: if we are talking about a nautical star tattoo then the meaning is that of staying on the right track and not getting lost. Even with such a tattoo, original details and interpretations can be achieved, by the alternations of colors, sizes, additional items and the body part where the tattoo is made.
A shooting star tattoo is meant to suggest the futility of a moment the same way a falling star crosses the sky and burns away. Remembrance of a moment: this is the most common meaning of such a star tattoo, though there are cases when people simply like the design and don’t associate anything in particular with the drawing. A more philosophical explanation for a star tattoo is that of goal fulfillment, regardless of whether we refer to career, love relationship or social life. If we get to cultural implications, then a tattoo star could have a more profound explanation such as rebirth, better life change or anything great that marked one’s existence.
The pentagram and the hexagram are some other star tattoo cases with a heavy symbolism. If the pentagram points downwards, then many people tend to see it as a ram figure and a symbol of the devil. If the star points in the upward direction, then it stands for balance and protection. Then, a hexagram as a star tattoo is just a different way of representing David’s star, the holy symbol of Judaism that suggests the meeting of the Divine and the human. Choosing the Creator’s symbol as a star tattoo is a heavy choice with quite some responsibility to it, but it is surely not out of bounds.
Analyzing every star tattoo for meaning is truly far-fetched since designs are very often chosen according to personal styles, fashion trends and even stylist’s suggestions, and they don’t always have a story to tell. Another important part of the body embellishment process by tattooing is the choice of the spot for the star design. Thus, with women, the shoulder, the hip, the ankle or the lower back remain the most popular places to get a star tattoo, while for men, the upper arm is chosen for the majority of cases.

The Energy Star is the symbol that marks the international standard of energy efficiency for all sorts of electronic products from computers and kitchen appliances to buildings and peripherals. The Energy Star was introduced in the United States in 1992, but it has been adopted by Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Canada, the European Union and Taiwan. The great thing about products that carry the Energy Star label is that they save around 20% or 30% on electricity, which is advantageous from the money saving perspective as well as from the environmental point of view. Electronic equipment with the Energy Star certification also combine low energy usage with good space features.
The very creation of the Energy Star standard comes from the environmental concern because of the high emission level of power plants. The one that supervised the development and the implementation of the Energy Star program was John Hoffman, the creator of other green programs. Initially, the whole project was meant to increase population awareness about the presence of energy efficient products on the market, and computers were the first to carry the Energy Star label. After 1995, the standard extended to residential heating and cooling systems as well as to home building. The year 2006 brought a true explosion of products marked with the Energy Star and servicing a variety of activity sectors.
Energy savings of up to 20% have been registered with refrigerators, while dishwashers have a huge saving rate of 41%. Moreover, the annual cost of the operation for the cooling and heating systems manufactured according to the Energy Star standards is indicated on the label for the buyer to appreciate and compare with other standard methods. The Department of Energy is the only institution that can label a product as energy efficient or not. This energy saving project has reached such technological levels that there are electronic products that use with 90% less energy.
The Energy Star applies to all sorts of lighting systems, and the implementation of fluorescent lighting is presently regulated by law, with incandescent lamps banned from countries like Australia for instance. Light bulbs that carry the Energy Star symbol use 75% less energy than their incandescent counterparts; furthermore, they can be used anywhere for indoor and outdoor lighting, for emergency lighting systems and complex corporation projects. Even the light decorations we make for Christmas should carry the Energy Star symbol. As the mass education progresses, such energy saving utilities will come to replace the older models that indirectly trigger environment destruction.

Star backgrounds are either included in the computer configuration for screen saving or they can be freely downloaded from various sites on the Internet. There are endless variants of star backgrounds from colorful to very simple and they represent a nice and relaxing alternative to a personalized computer screen. Since more and more people work on the computer today, the idea to re-invent screen design keeps coming over and over again. If your computer belongs to a corporation, and according to internal regulations you cannot add personal photos on the desktop, star backgrounds are just one of the many neutral choices.
Why are simple star backgrounds better than animated variants for instance? The shape of a star is considered more relaxing and discreet, allowing for good concentration; the smaller and natural the stars, the better the effect. When referring to star backgrounds, we need to keep in mind the fact they don’t have to be artificially created, they could very well be a picture of the starry night sky, or images of constellations captured through a telescope. Certain sites that have the download option for star backgrounds often give access codes in case they demand a minimum fee for using their materials, though this is not a must-follow condition.
Star backgrounds are very much to the liking of people with an organized mind, since the universal order in a quality real sky picture could become an extension of personal creativity. Therefore, it is understandable why people insist so much on making and defining ‘my space’ as carefully as possible. Instead of the free wallpapers available on the Internet, star backgrounds can be created from quality photos of the night sky. The resolution and the size of the image you want to apply on the screen are also very important for a correct and neat application.
In case of artificially created star backgrounds, it is advisable to avoid motion in animated versions like falling stars for instance. Too vivid choices do stimulate the imagination, but on the other hand they could also amplify stress to unwanted levels. So as to make sure that your space is configured properly, watch several star backgrounds for a few minutes and see which you feel most comfortable and relaxed with. The idea is not to get something that catches the eye, but rather to focus on the idea that the background is the background, not the focal point.

From the initial concept of Dancing with the Stars, the producing television network developed a franchise sold throughout the world. There are other dancing stars in many countries, and though the rules of the show are kept the same, there are variations in terms of competition specificity. Elements were added to the Dancing with the Stars formula in order to increase the public response to the show. Hence, the dancing stars remain, but instead of a professional dancer there is a common person who enters the competition for a special reason: he or she tries to win the big prize to help a dear person in need.
Thus, the original entertainment idea of the dancing stars receives a touch of personal drama, and moves towards a humanitarian purpose, attracting the sympathy of the public all the more. Similar to other British and American shows sold throughout the world, like Britain’s Got Talent for instance, Dancing with the Stars is produced in several series, and for television rating purposes too. Therefore, it goes without saying that as long as the number of viewers remains high, the producers have all the interest to support the show and develop it a bit further. This dancing stars show makes a terrific opportunity for some to make money and for others to increase popularity.
Additional on going events take place in parallel with the dancing stars competition; thus, the contestants become the main guests of various entertainment shows, or they take part to special tours for popularization purposes and last but not least, they appear in a huge number of magazines, tabloids and newspapers from around the country. Then, there comes the Internet with the interactive part and the chance to leave board messages to the dancing stars. You can even visit the official ABC site and get access to the most recent news on the mobile phone.
Once wide-mass entertainment shows have been launched, the public’s taste for night movies has decreased a little bit, even if the film channels have their fans. The reality facts indicate that televisions profit better if they put up a show of dancing stars than they would by broadcasting a film. In other words, Dancing with the Stars was the beginning of a new era in the evolution of television. When the show will no longer be popular they will come up with other ones more exciting and more appealing for the audience, since the viewer’s opinion is the one to set the course of action.

The meaning of nautical star tattoos has been the subject of many debates since different groups have taken this old symbol as an icon of their movement. This actually led to an increased significance level according to the person who used it and depending on the context. Historically speaking nautical star tattoos were a characteristic of sailors, who had their superstitions and fears about being lost at sea or never seeing land again. Thus the north star became the home symbol and a silent promise that they’ll find their way or path in life. Such nautical star tattoos clearly stand for good fortune and the chance to get home in the best of conditions.
The groups who have predominantly adopted nautical star tattoos are the military, lesbians and gays as well as punk rockers, but taken separately they all consider different meanings of the symbol. For those in the army, the connection is pretty similar to the symbolism given by sailors; the military are also looking or waiting for their return home. The lesbian connections with the nautical star tattoos are about choices. In the 40s and 50s, when people didn’t have that much liberty to show their alternative orientations, lesbians would tattoo the nautical star on the inside part of the wrist where it could be easily camouflaged by a watch, but in the evening when they went out, the tattoo could be seen and recognized by others just like them.
As for punk groups, nautical star tattoos represent a symbolic way of expressing their differences. With the same hints to the North star, these tattoos point to personal efforts to find one’s path in life even if that means being different. Many full sleeve tattoos that are so common among punk rockers also include a nautical star, the elbow area is otherwise preferred for the decoration. Besides these categories of people who wear nautical star tattoos for a purpose, there are many others who simply take a liking in the pattern. The preference for one tattoo or another is highly personal and it should remain that way.
One interesting aspect remains the denial of the symbolic charges of the nautical star tattoos; thus, the military often have a very strong rejection and debunking reaction towards the possible associations with gay or lesbian groups. Yet, other people wear such tattoos without even giving them a meaning other than their personal liking for the design. The thing that stays valid is the presence of nautical star tattoos in different moments in the history of mankind, which no one can deny.

Fort Worth Star Telegram is the main daily newspaper issued in Fort Worth for the western part of North Texas with the eastern area dominated by the rival publication Dallas Morning News. It goes without saying that very tight competition exists between the two newspapers that claim prominence over their part of the United States. Presently, the Fort Worth Star Telegram is the property of The McClatchy Company, but its history goes back at the beginning of the 20th century when the first edition of the newspaper saw the light of the day. It all started with Amon G. Carter being hired as an advertising space salesman in Fort Worth, and in a few months he got to finance and run the town’s newspaper that finally came in print on February 1, 1906.
The initial name was the Fort Worth Star, and it did not have the success Carter had expected. Given the fact that the newspaper was losing money severely, Carter took the decision of buying its competitor the Fort Worth Telegram, and this is how the Fort Worth Star Telegram came into being at the beginning of 1909. Between 1923 and the aftermath of the Second World War, The Fort Worth Star Telegram covered one of the largest distribution areas in the South of the United States.
West Texas, New Mexico and the western part of Oklahoma were reading the Fort Worth Star Telegram during the period. In 1948, the newspaper supported and actually put into practice the creation of the first television station in Texas, WBAP-TV. The Carter family continued to run the newspaper for three more decades, but in 1974, they sold it to Capital Cities Communications, the group that also bought the ABC TV network. The Fort Worth Star Telegram changed owners again as the Capital Cities/ABC group was purchased by The Walt Disney Company.
It was only in June 2006 that the Star-Telegram came into the possession of its present owner. The circulation area of the publication is surely reduced as compared to its early history, but the situation is explainable given the large number of newspapers, magazines and tabloids that serve the American market daily. The newspaper can also be accessed online, and it is the oldest American publication with Internet operation. Presently, the Fort Worth Star Telegram undergoes all sorts of market adaptations both in the electronic and the paper format so that it may be perceived as both reader friendly and quality promoter.

In the old times people spent a lot more time looking at the sky and searching for the answer to their various problems and preoccupations among the stars. Magical stories, myths and legends about stars abound in every culture. Back then, people could name a star according to the symbolism or meaning they attached to it. Presently, official astrological institutions only name bigger stars, while the smaller ones are simply cataloged by numbers. Comets and asteroids are also given names, but everything tends to be well organized and structured so as to allow a quick and efficient identification on the sky map.
Little by little, a popular trend grew out to name a star after a person dear to you; people want to show love or respect and assign names to already classified stars found in Astrophysical Observatory Catalogs. Companies that intermediate name a star services should be listed with a copywrite office to be recognized as institutions; yet, remember that even if you name a star, it is not official, but personal and highly sentimental. Even if generally used by non-astronomers, this type of service still requires the use of the official coordinates for a specific celestial body in order to pass a certificate.
The most common resources to name a star include the Hubble Space Telescope catalog, the Messier catalog or the Smithsonian catalog. The star naming company has to specify which reference they use so as to make a distinction both between the stars and the other businesses with the same range of activity. When you name a star you do not create a scientific designation but rather a meaningful gesture that is understood by a few people close to you. It is also possible to take a pick at the constellation you want to name a star from, and many companies have this option included on the order form.
The basis on which the star choice is made includes brightness and closeness to our planet; the higher the proximity, the more visible the star. Consequently, you should choose to name a star with a magnitude of ten or less so that you may be able to see it with a good telescope if not with a naked eye or a pair of binoculars. People living in areas with high levels of pollution will have difficulties in spotting their star, and only cold winter days with little dust in the atmosphere would allow for a good observation. One thing that also needs a special mention is the fact that you cannot select exactly the star you want to name, you only have freedom as far as the choice of the constellation.

Checking for star sign compatibility with the person you love has become a common practice powered by the multiple columns you find in all sorts of magazines about the importance to make great zodiac matches. The trend of the star sign compatibility is rooted in the traditions of ancient cultures who devoted a lot of time to the study and the interpretation of cosmic phenomena. Thus, every person is born under a star sign and all his/her life unfolds in close connection with the cosmic energy of the moment of birth. According to the Chinese interpretation, star sign compatibility involves the study of the essential elements: water, air, fire and earth.
Thus, there are twelve signs of the zodiac in the horoscope, three for each of the essential elements: thus, Libra, Gemini and Aquarius are air signs, Leo, Ares and Sagittarius correspond to the fire element, Pisces, Cancer and Capricorn belong to the water element while Taurus, Virgo and Scorpio are earth elements. The natives belonging to the same sign of the zodiac have the highest star sign compatibility, but they are also great in relation with the others belonging to the same essential element. Thus, Libra will make a perfect match with a Gemini or an Aquarius, and vice versa.
Another element that is thought to influence the star sign compatibility is the exact moment of birth, that is also charged with a lot of significance, this is called the ascendant or the rising star. Analysis of star sign compatibility can surely go deeper than that, but only professional astrologers can put up a personal chart with all the features specific to an individual. The star sign compatibility analysis that we see advertised in magazines or on web pages is a basic form of interpretation. Otherwise, you are only given the basics of this intricate science of reading in the stars.
Why is star sign compatibility so important? The truth is that behavioral studies indicate that people with a good star compatibility have great work results when on the same team, have fulfilled love lives together and generally develop better friendly or business relationships as compared to signs they have no compatibility with. Harmony and positive feelings usually result from such good matches, yet, personal native inheritance has a heavy word to say in the matter too, since any individual is first and foremost the result of biological determination and only secondly a product of cosmic influences.

Launched by BBC Television UK, Dancing with the Stars is the reality show that has won not only Great Britain and the United States but many other countries around the globe since 2004. The rules of the show pair a celebrity with a professional dancer and the latter is responsible for teaching the other how to perform certain dances. The team has to prepare two dances which they afterwards perform live in the show of the week. The scoring part falls in the responsibility of a panel of three judges and of the public who can also vote via phone lines, text messages or online. The team with the poorest score leaves the competition.
An interesting detail to mention is that two of the judges, Len Goodman and Bruno Tonioli, weekly commute between Los Angeles and London so as to judge for both the American and the British Dancing with the Stars simultaneously. ABC television is presently broadcasting the eighth season of Dancing with the Stars in the United States. The public voting is mainly run on the ABC web site with watchers being able to vote up to five times after each performance. If the Internet is not an option for you, then, the ABC toll-free number will help you express your opinion and support your favorite team.
Both in Europe and in the United States, the first and second seasons of Dancing with the Stars enjoyed a spectacular audience level being the most-watched show since Who Wants to Be a Millionaire. From the third series onwards a moderation in the number of viewers was noticed as the show did not surpass the numbers of competitor programs, but it ranked almost the same with CBS’ Survivor: Panama, for example. All sorts of events marked the history of the show, there were several celebrity withdrawals like that of Sara Evans in the third season who had to quit because of her getting a divorce.
Tabloid columns also widely discussed the relationships between celebrities and their professional dancer partners for the show Dancing with the Stars. It was the case of Mario Lopez and Karina Smirnoff or that of Shannon Elizabeth and Derek Hough. Plenty of news, photos and videos are posted on the Internet from the various series of Dancing with the Stars, and even a companion book was written tackling with the most popular dances and the training routines to follow for great good looks. Dancing with the Stars moves on, particularly as it enjoys public support.

The modern re-inventing of an old tattoo, the red nautical star has a history of at least one hundred years. The North Star and the Southern Cross were the two sparkling dots on the sky that showed sailors their way on the sea at night; as long as one of these two was visible, the ship was on the right course. Sailors would therefore tattoo nautical stars on their arms most of the times out of superstition, and to increase chances to get home safe. Compass stars were also popular for the very same reason of staying on the right course at all times. The red nautical star is a modern recreation of this old belief or tradition.
Soldiers choose to wear a red nautical star for a purpose similar to that of the sailors’ in the times of yore. The symbol of guidance and good fortune, the star is trusted to show one the right direction in life, influencing the person who wears it to make the good decisions. The upward pointing of the nautical red star indicates a higher outlook on life, but it is often a matter of personal choice. There are other colors for the tattoo even if black and red are the classical ones; green and black, blue and black are very often used too. The red nautical star variant misses the black element as it stresses out the force of life and one’s vital energy.
People choose to attach all sorts of meanings to the red nautical star tattoos and often they also add a distinctive element that sets the design apart from the classical variant. A person wearing a red nautical star in a visible place on the body may be willing to explain the meaning he or she gives to the tattoo. Thus, there are people who express their solidarity with those who donate their organs, others imagine the tattoo as a homage paid to a moment or person with a special significance in their lives, while others will choose the red nautical star because it suggests optimism and vitality.
You can get a red nautical star tattooed in any salon, but you need to be careful about the choice so that all the hygiene conditions are met properly. The size of the red nautical star depends on where you want to wear it. The arms, the legs and the back allow for a larger nautical star, but many people, especially women would rather go for some little discreet tattoo that emphasizes femininity and makes a point at the same time.

The beauty of a shooting star crossing the night sky is undeniable, but while for some people this is very romantic, for others it just suggests a bad omen. The perception of the shooting star in various cultures is both varied and suggestive; thus, westerners often make a wish when they see a falling star, while in other parts of the globe, any shooting star tells people that someone is dying. Yet, although we give all sorts of explanations to such sky events, they have a very reasonable and easy to understand scientific background. Beautiful and great as a shooting star may be, it is just false star.
A shooting star is a meteoroid, or some other boulder-sized debris form that falls on Earth and gets on fire at the entrance in the atmosphere. The great friction of the air masses and the presence of the oxygen associated with the high velocity of the meteoroid cause the star-like appearance. Thus, the shooting star often doesn’t even get to touch the ground as it burns completely in the atmosphere. Larger meteoroids that don’t burn completely because of their size, fall on the ground causing crater formations, but this time they are called meteors.
The light specter as well as the trajectory of the shooting star allow scientists to speculate on the structure or chemical composition of the falling body. Though observable with the naked eye only at night, meteoroids and meteors also fall during the day, but this time they are detected only by radio signals, with the sunlight making them very difficult to spot otherwise. Thus, scientists have determined that a shooting star can be light and fragile like a snowball or heavy and dense because of the hard metal core. A special kind of shooting star here is the one that passes through an atmosphere sector and gets out into space again to continue its speedy course.
A very bright shooting star is called a fireball and the measurements are made by comparing the light intensity of the meteor with that of a planet. As beautiful as it may look, a shooting star can often cause great damage on Earth’s surface if it is not totally combusted during the passage through the atmosphere. Past collisions were devastating for ecosystems, with great flora and fauna damage; should such a shooting star fall in a city, the impact would be that of a bomb dropping with the intensity of the explosion varying according to the size of the meteorite.
